When do I need an Air Quality Assessment?

Air Quality Assessments are often required by Local Authorities for sensitive developments in urban areas.

A combination of the poor air quality and the increase in demand for housing in popular urban areas is leading to an increase in the redevelopment of sites within poor air quality areas, many of which are in Air Quality Management Areas (AQMAs).

 

Air quality assessments often include an impact assessment to help determine whether the development is likely to contribute to the deterioration of the air quality in the surrounding area which is of particular concern in AQMAs.
