Harmil Environmental's team of expert ecologists have extensive experience in devising mitigation and compensation measures required to meet planning conditions.

Working throughout the UK, we have worked on a wide range of projects throughout the UK and continue to work with private clients, architects, developers and local authorities. Our aim is to make developments proceed as smoothly as possible whilst working under the jurisdiction of the wildlife laws.

Why are Mitigation & Compensation Measures important?

Following on from our protected sites and species surveys, mitigation and compensation measures have to be put in place in order to protect the species found on site. For example, additional features such as bat boxes may have to be installed.

How can Harmil help?

The mitigation and compensation services that we undertake include:

  • Watching briefs/Site supervision

  • Licence applications

  • Bespoke mitigation and compensation works

  • Habitat and Land Management Plans, including the creation of new habitats and the enhancement of those already there.

We are able to devise bespoke mitigation and compensation measures. We are also experienced in helping our clients to implement these measures as well as supporting with habitat management, creation and enhancement. We endeavour to offer services which will be beneficial to the client and of course, the flora and fauna that have been found to use the site during the initial presence/absence surveys.

We always aim to offer a fast, professional and friendly service at competitive prices. We work with our clients to provide common sense solutions and we will never stop a development, just work around protected species to ensure that no wildlife laws are broken!
