When do I need a BS5837 Tree Survey?

Tree surveys are often a requirement for planning applications. Trees are vital features of a landscape and offer many benefits from aesthetical factors to scientific factors.

We undertake the necessary arboriculture surveys for developments, from small-scale extensions to large-scale developments. The surveys follow the regulations that are set out in the ‘BS 5837:2012 Trees in relation to design, demolition and construction – Recommendations.’

 

These surveys include the species, condition, height, crown spread and stem diameter of the specimens required to be surveyed. A desktop study will also reveal any site protection, including any Tree Protection Orders (TPO’s) that may be in force.
