Harmil Environmental's team of expert ecologists have extensive experience in undertaking Phase 2 Habitat surveys and producing professional and comprehensive ecological reports required to meet planning conditions.

Working throughout the UK, we have worked on a wide range of projects throughout the UK and continue to work with private clients, architects, developers and local authorities. Our aim is to make developments proceed as smoothly as possible whilst working under the jurisdiction of the wildlife laws.

When do I need a Phase 2 Habitat Survey?

Phase 2 Habitat Surveys/National Vegetation Classification (NVC) Surveys are used to obtain more detailed information about a site than that collated within a Preliminary Ecological Appraisal (P.E.A). These surveys are also able to assess the condition of the habitats located on a site, as well as monitoring short and long-term habitat creation and restoration projects.

The National Vegetation Classification (NVC) system enables detailed assessment of all UK habitat types and compares survey information to nationally recognised plant communities to allow us to advise on habitat complexity and rarity in local to national contexts.   The survey aims to identify areas of increased botanical value and highlight the presence of rare and / or scarce floral species. We have experience in carrying out these surveys on a wide range of habitat types.

How can Harmil help?

Harmil Environmental's ecologists are licensed to carry out Phase 2 Habitat Surveys anywhere in the UK with prices starting from as low as £250. The surveys are undertaken by the appropriate licensed individuals across England, Scotland and Wales.

We always aim to offer a fast, professional and friendly service at competitive prices. We work with our clients to provide common sense solutions and we will never stop a development, just work around protected species to ensure that no wildlife laws are broken!
