White-clawed Crayfish Surveys
Harmil Environmental's team of expert ecologists have extensive experience in undertaking white-clawed crayfish surveys and producing professional and comprehensive ecological reports required to meet planning conditions.

Working throughout the UK, we have worked on a wide range of projects throughout the UK and continue to work with private clients, architects, developers and local authorities. Our aim is to make developments proceed as smoothly as possible whilst working under the jurisdiction of the wildlife laws.

When do I need a White-clawed Crayfish Survey?

White-clawed crayfish are protected under the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981, and are classified as Endangered on the IUCN Red List. This means that they are vulnerable to extinction and could be lost within the next 30 years, therefore making it critical that no harm is caused during developments.
Prior to any development, protected species are required to be considered prior to the approval of planning. The following species are protected and must be considered:

- Bats
- Badgers
- Birds
- Otters
- Reptiles
